Ahhh the mess.....
In keeping with the spirit of the last post, I suggest everyone read this article by Michael Lewis, the author of the 1989 book "Liar's Poker".

That is a good article. For instance, "In Bakersfield, California, a Mexican strawberry picker with an income of $14,000 and no English was lent every penny he needed to buy a house for $720,000."
Yes, I suggest reading it as well. Although it suggests to me that this situation is not so much the mortgage lenders' faults, but rather the fault of the Wall Street types and the large investment banks.
